It’s so exciting to be living in London where there are SO many people who love books, and hence LOADS of awesome book events! Here’s three that I can’t make but maybe you should go? They look so good!
1. Book Slam @ The Clapham Grand with Kate Hamer & others
18th March 6.30pm doors/7.30pm start
£6 advance, £8 on the door
I found out about the monthly book slam three months ago but still haven’t been able to make any of them! They have authors, writers and poets speaking and reading from their work and food and drink available, and I think it sounds super awesome! I’m keeping an eye out and definitely trying to go to one soon. I don’t know any of the authors at the next one but I’d love to go anyway!
Find out more on their website.
2. Speakeasy at Drink Shop Do with Lucy Ribchester and others
10th February, free from 7.00pm
Drink Shop Do is an awesome venue and is about five minutes from my house! I discovered last week that they run this literary night including readings, cocktails and a story challenge
. It sounds super fun and hopefully I’ll be able to go next time!
3. Lucy Ribchester at Waterstones in Hampstead.
So I wasn’t the hugest fan of Lucy Ribchester’s The Hourglass Factory but I’d still be really really interested to hear more about it, about her process of writing it etc etc. It’s a book with some fascinating ideas and stuff in it so I think this would be fun! Also Waterstones in Hampstead is a totally delicious bookshop.
Hopefully I’ll be able to go to some of these next time!
At least I’ve got book club discussing The Miniaturist on this Friday! (if anyone in London is looking for a bookclub get in touch…)
YOU…you are just twisting knife in the wound! :D I am so happy that London has so many bookish events! (And unhappy but more happy). One day I will live in London and check those out ^^
Yes just come! It’s the best!
